Project 26, 27 and 28

It's been ages since I've added anything, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy with the crochet hook!

Here are three of my latest rugs.

#28 - Watermelon, pale pink and white

This one you'll know from my banner, except instead of using a red, this one has 'watermelon', which softens it slightly.  It's #82 from the Big Book of Dishcloths.

I like the change in boarder I did for this one, no scallops or shells, I did a row of the posts in watermelon, and then a double crochet in pink and single crochet in white.  I think it brought it together really well.

I did have a lady ask me if I could make a pink rug on my Facebook page, but I think the payment was an issue, as she was in the UK, and I don't have an Etsy store or anything.

I'm sure it will go to a good home.

27 - Kitten Pattern

This is a pattern called 'kittens' that was given to my mum by one of her friends. Personally I can't see the kitten in it, but it crochet's up quite quickly and looks really effective.  I'm looking at making a yellow, fawn and white version too, you'll get to see that later.

26Venetian Granny Square

This rug is from some leftover balls of wool I had, using a granny square pattern called "Venetian" from the Granny Square Book by Margaret Hubert.  I thought using all venetian squares may have looked a bit overwhelming, so I made some plain squares as well, and I think it turned out really well.  I'm still not perfect on joining them, and it was probably because the plain squares and the venetian squares were probably not completely the same size, but it works.

I like the boarder, which brings it together nicely.

Projects 23, 24 and 25

So, it's been a while since I posted anything new here - slack, I know.  If you want to follow what I'm making, I have a Facebook page now...

Project 23 - Pattern 75 - The Big Book of Dishcloths

I made this over Christmas 2017.  I didn't expect to finish it so quickly, but then I did watch a lot of cricket on TV.

Project 24 - Savannah - The Granny Square Book

I've got a new pattern book.  The Granny Square Book by Margaret Hubert.  There's 99 patterns for squares, but I'm not sure I'll make them all.  Anyway, I started with one that looked fairly easy - Savannah.   Really happy with these little squares!

Project 25 - Celtic Cross - The Granny Square Book

Another Granny Square pattern.  Celtic Cross. This was donated wool and quite stiff, which seemed to work well with the pattern.  If I was giving this to a friend, I'd try a softer yarn.

Project 22 - African Flower Squares

I loved this pattern the minute I saw it and wanted to make it.

I used some left over balls of wool I had in my stash.

I hate joining the squares, but found a decent tutorial on you tube to make them sit flat, using the crochet around each square method.

I'm really happy with this one!

You can find the pattern here:

Project 20 - Green Poles

It's been a while since I've posted any of my projects. No excuse. I've found a whole bunch of groups on Facebook and have been looking at some amazing projects people are making from all over the world - and I have so much to aspire to!

Anyway, here's another baby blanket - I really love this stitch and these colours work well (I think).
Pierre seems pretty happy with it too!

It's off to the Shellharbour Hospital Ladies auxiliary
